Born on June 1 1994, in Nassarawa Village, Kaduna State, to clergy parents – Rev. & Pst. Mrs Ayuba Bawa, Moses Shekwonya Ayuba (popularly known as Menxee), an indigene of Kaduna State born and bred, is the first son and second born of five kids. Growing up he and his siblings experienced a great deal of change of environment as regards the nature of his parents’ occupation as Clergymen which involved frequent transfers from one city to another and as a result he attended six primary schools. However, his Secondary schooling experience was unlike that of his Primary schooling experience as his family was no more on the frequent transfers, hence he attended only one Secondary School (Christ Ambassadors’ College, Kaduna).

Growing up, music has always being a part of the family as his father, being a musician himself, had a reggae band of which Menxee would always tag along during rehearsals and hence, he developed an interest in playing the drums and singing. At the age of six, he formed his boy band encouraged and backed up by his father’s band. Fast forward, In 2009 while in Secondary School, Menxee joined a 5-boy group known as “All-Starz” and as a group, they started recording songs and performing on stages until upon graduating when the group dissolved. This new beginning had a huge impact on developing Menxee’s growing career in becoming an independent artiste. As a solo recording and performing artiste, he started writing and producing songs of his own and others and has also been on many features over the years.

Being an afro-hip hop artiste, a song-writer and a producer, Menxee has experienced growth in his career. Starting as part of a group back in his school days, to gaining a growing fan base and recognition. He is a graduate of English studies from Kaduna State University, having graduated in 2017 and served in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, under the National Service Corps Scheme, the following year.

Menxee draws strength from the word of God and thrives on being and living positive daily. He believes in building healthy relationships, inspiring people and besting his art in every way he possibly can. He is also one who loves to address social issues through his art as he believes in speaking and standing by the truth and on The Truth which is Jesus.

Menxee released a four-track promo CD in the year 2014 and over the years, he has released a couple of singles and in 2017 released his debut album titled “John: The Confession” which was released at a live concert in December 2017 in Kaduna State. He has performed on several platforms in and out of the state before and after then.

Menxee is an afro-hip hop artiste, song-writer and producer from Kaduna State, Nigeria. He, however, considers himself an all-genre type of artiste and he has his debut album and other singles he has released to attest to this. He loves making positive music to reach out to people and sharing the word of God through his art.
